Free Mobile is awarded 3G mobile network license by French Telecommunication Regulator as the 4^th to start providing mobile broadband in France. Free Mobile was the only bidder for the license of 5 Mhz in 2100 Mhz band opting for 3G services. As per license terms, Free agreed to pay EUR 240 million as license fee and it has committed to provide 90% of population coverage within 8 years of getting license.  

By awarding the license, French Telecom Regular expect to have more competition in telecom industry which will benefit the users and will develop the telecom infrastructure of France further. Rest of the 2100 Mhz spectrum will be put in auction for other operators in first half of next year, regulator stated. 

Free Mobile is a subsidiary of broadband group Iliad announced to provide innovative voice services for customer in near future.
